Golden seared fish fillets simmered in a spiced tomato–onion masala with curry leaves and lemon. Light, quick, and deeply flavourful — perfect midweek with steamed rice or warm roti.

Ingredients

  • White Fish Fillets500g
  • Tomato Puree400g
  • Onions1kg
  • Curry Leaves50g
  • Mustard Seeds100g
  • Coconut Oil500ml
  • Turmeric Powder1tbsp
  • Red chilli powder1tsp
  • Lemon1tbsp Juice
  • Saltpinch

Directions

  1. Marinate fish with turmeric, chilli, salt 15 mins; sear and reserve.
  2. Heat oil; pop mustard seeds with curry leaves.
  3. Add onions; sauté. Add tomato puree; reduce.
  4. Return fish; simmer 10 mins.
  5. Finish with lemon.
